Autumn Decor

With the changing seasons, I love to update my apartment decor in little ways to reflect the new season. Since it wouldn’t be very boxed wine of me to conduct a full-blown makeover, I’ve found inexpensive and little ways to make the apartment look a little more seasonally appropriate.

I already shared a picture of my first pumpkin of the season, which has found it’s perfect spot on the windowsill.

Holy Halloween Candies. This is last time this bowl will be seen full.

Some people love pumpkin candles, but for me, nothing smells better than warm cinnamon as the weather gets colder. My mom used to always have cinnamon candles during the holidays, so that must be why it smells like home.

Boxed Wine Budget Tip: If you don’t have a candle and want to keep your home smelling amazing, use vanilla extract. Put two cap fulls in a coffee mug and heat in a 300 degree oven for 1 hour. It’s a total game-changer.

These gorgeous orange pillows to bring more color into the apartment in a warm and seasonally-appropriate way.

Our little autumn sitting area. Cute, right?

  1. Casey, your apartment looks so festive! Loved the tips for decorating while staying on budget. I just decorated our fireplace mantle the other day with pumpkins and gourds that I got from the local market as well as a lantern that I scored for a great price! Loved your tip about using vanilla as an alternative to candles; another one I’ve heard is cutting an apple in quarters and putting them in a pot of boiling water and cinnamon – makes the house smell amazing!

  2. I love those pillows! I totally have a throw pillow addiction and have been wanting to pick up some orange and white throw pillows for our house to make it feel a little more like fall. I picked up a great pumpkin/cinnamon candle at Target the other day to get the ball rolling…and the bowl of halloween candy won’t be far behind!
